Thanksgiving Cake Pops Recipe Directions:
Prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the package, or bake a cake from scratch. Once the cake has baked and been cooled, crumble it with your hands and stir in your frosting. Be careful not to add too much frosting to the crumbled cake mix. Your cake will become too moist if you do so. After you have mixed the crumbed cake and frosting, roll the mixture into small spheres. Allow them to chill in your refrigerator before your proceed to the following steps. Melt your almond bark or chocolate candy coating according to the directions on the package.
Next, dip your chilled cake balls in the coating/bark and allow them to set. Next, take 5 candy corns per cake pop and place them narrow end down on the ‘back’ of your cake pop. Adhere them to the cake pop with a bit of the melted chocolate coating/almond bark. On the ‘front’ of your turkey cake pops, attach light brown coated espresso beans with a dab of melted coating. Next, take an orange mini chip and attach it with a dab of melted chocolate to the center of the espresso bean. Directly below the orange chip ‘beak’, attach a red heart sprinkle upside down. This will be the turkey’s waddle. Next, attach pretzel sticks broken in half to the back of the cake pop with melted chocolate. This will be the turkey’s legs. Finally, use your edible ink pen to create black eyes on your turkey cake pops above the “beak.”
